Help – Functions of ToyBase menu

The User Guide is written as HTML files and installed with ToyBase onto your PC.  You can view them in ToyBase or your Web Browser and print as many copies as you need.

The Functions page describes each menu item in ToyBase.  I am in the process of copying each section to the Help pages of this website.

Help – Latest News menu

You must be connected to the Internet. This menu will open your Browser at the latest news section of the ToyBase website.

The top right corner describes the very latest change to the software or website, and earlier activities are listed in the Recent Activity box further down the page.

Help – Check for upgrades menu

Click this once per month or so.  You need to be connected to the Internet.  ToyBase will ask our website to check if you are using the latest version – if not it will give you a link to download the latest version and a link to list the new features that have been added.

Help – View Log menu

You don’t normally need to look at the log.  ToyBase keeps a record of any errors or problems (called warnings) that it encounters.  I may occasionally ask you to copy/paste this log into an email and send it to me but it is very unlikely.

The log records information such as:

  • the location of the database folder(s) that ToyBase found, their locations, and the one it uses
  • whether an automatic backup was amde
